This is going to be a very different blog this month. On my usual blogs I talk about different places I’ve been Birding but as it was August, I took a little break from Birding to enjoy The Edinburgh Festival Fringe which was amazing this year. I didn’t have to wait long before I was Birding again because I’ve just returned from a week in Bergen in Norway and this is what this blog will be all about.
Bergen is a beautiful place, amazing scenery, friendly people, buildings and of course birds!!. On a walk around a park there were lots of Gulls mainly Herring & Black Backed Gulls, Tufted Ducks, Mute Swans & Starlings.

Later on we walked through a Park next to a University and decided to have a picnic I noticed a lot of House Sparrows at close range looking for scraps.

During the week went on a boat trip to Flam which is a lovely place . I didn’t take pictures of birds that trip but did see Cormorant’s, Eider Ducks & Swallows.

On a walk to a coffee shop for coffee and cake passed a mini fountain were House Sparrows & Starlings were enjoying a splash and a drink. At the cafe more House Sparrows we’re looking for scraps.

On a boat trip on Sotra I saw a lot of bird life which included Cormorant’s, Oystercatchers, Herring & Black Backed Gulls. The place reminded me of The Outer Hebrides.

I had a great time in Bergen I would really recommend it I can’t believe we are in September after a few days I’ll be back Birding again for the start of the Autumn season have a great month.

Fascinating… bird watching!? they always flies so fast though! I wanted to consider this Birding time, i think i´ts better than people watching.
