November Blog

I started the month of October with a week in Amble in Northumberland and had a great time . It’s a lovely seaside village and there were lots of birds around mainly seabirds and Starlings. I went on a walk to the nearby village Warkworth along the river and there were birds to see including Cormorants, Redshank & Curlew.

Whilst in Northumberland I visited Hauxley Nature Reserve run by The Wildlife Trust. I had a fantastic morning there watching lots of Graylag & Canada Geese as well as Egrets, Goldeneye, Goldcrest, Goldfinch, Blue & Great Tits, Heron & many more.

When I returned home I took part in Global Bird Weekend and started at my local patch Cammo Estate Nature Reserve. It was rather quiet bird wise but it was a beautiful sunny day so I got to admire the autumn colours.

The next day I went to The River Almond Walkway and had a better day birdwise saw Heron, Mallards, Long Tailed Tits & Jackdaw.

I have heard about this birding community app called Birda a few times this year and thought I’d join up and it’s been a lot of fun, from logging sightings and having a birding session whilst out Birding which I did down at Cramond watching Robin, Gooseanders & Jackdaws.

Sadly there had been a lot of rain for the final week of October so I’ve not managed to get out but I thought I’d end this blog with pictures of Woodpigeons I saw one morning on one rare day it was dry. I can’t believe it’s November and hard to believe I will be publishing my final blog of 2023 next month.
