November Blog

Well here we are in November already I can’t believe how fast this year has gone, the clocks have gone back the leaves have started to fall and the whole season is looking very autumn.

At the beginning of the month I joined a live zoom event by The Scottish Wildlife Trust who were doing a live Goose Watch at Montrose Basin. It was amazing watching lots of Pink Footed Geese coming in to roost, the host was really good and informative but it was just nice watching and listening I hope to attend a live one next year.

The next day I watched a Goldfinch at the feeder. Unfortunately I couldn’t take many pics in the garden because my telescope is getting fixed.

I took part in The Global Bird Weekend though the weekend was wet I did see a few birds in the garden but the best result was a huge flock of Pink Footed Geese flying over my house it was great to see.

I have just returned from Benbecula in The Outer Hebrides for a family wedding. I had a great time though forecast wasn’t great I did see some birds including Lapwings, Graylag Geese, White Tailed Eagles, & Pied Wagtail. The highlight was seeing a Kestrel flying and hovering the house.

I also saw my first Redwing of the year on the garden so that was very exciting.

October was pretty wet so I wasn’t out as much as I liked but I’m going out a lot this month and I will tell you about it next month which will also be my last one of the year and a highlights blog. Have a great month.
