I visited a new location in Edinburgh which I’ve never been before and that was Calton Hill. It was a lovely day to go out Birding so thought I’d have a day Birding because I was goung to two places that day. After I had my lunch on a bench I had a walk around admiring the views of the city but most importantly seeing what birds are around. I must admit it is a nice place to wonder but didn’t see that many birds, however I did see Woodpigeon, Magpie, Blue Tit, Dunnock, Long Tailed Tit & Robin.

I then headed over to my next location to St Margaret’s Loch at Holyrood Park as it has been awhile since I last visited. Usually it’s very busy on the loch but it was rather quiet but there was plenty of birds to see while I walked around. Birds I saw on the loch were Moorhen, Robin, Black Headed Gull, Mute Swan, Black Backed Gull,Crow, Magpie & Blackbird. I did however made some friends I sat on a bench having a snack when a Feral Pigeon flew up and sat next to me which was nice then within seconds I was surrounded by more they were obviously wanting my snack which they didn’t get but I enjoyed their company.

I had a couple of days up in Banff and had a good time. At the apartment I had a great view of seabirds and waders at the rocks all different types of Gulls, Turnstones & Oystercatchers. On a walk at Duff House estate woodland I heard my first Chiffchaff of the year also heard a Great Spotted Woodpecker drumming. I visited RSPB’s reserve Troup Head home to a Gannet colony and it was an incredible sight.

I had an amazing morning at my local patch At Cammo Estate Nature Reserve. The birds were in full swing I saw Moorhen, Song Thrush, Woodpigeon, Crow, Mallard, Blue Tit, Chiffchaff, Blackbird, Robin & Long Tailed Tit. But it wasn’t the birds that made my day I encountered two wildlife encounters I spotted a Deer peering through the woods I stopped and stood still, it watched me for a moments then it walked away and disappeared. Also in the woods I very nearly stepped on a Toad.
